Merry Christmas!

KatyMark and Helen would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank-you to all of our valued clients. We feel so privileged to have this fabulous and growing community.

What a year it has been! We wanted to focus on giving back to our clients and following our dream of making better lives possible. We did this by hosting monthly free seminars and affordable workshops on health and wellbeing topics, including; arthritis, headaches, running, fitness motivation, and many more. It was great to see that so many of our clients want to learn and improve their health. This makes us excited about how we can teach and inspire you more, so watch this space in 2020.

We believe that to provide a good service, we need to assist the profession of Physiotherapy and the health care system as a whole in New Zealand. Mark was nominated to be a director on the Physiotherapy New Zealand Board and is helping to make great changes. He is also on the Procare steering committee representing physiotherapy on some great initiatives to improve injury management, including teaching over 200 GP's on musculoskeletal diagnosis.

Katy has also had a great year with her research being published in the prestigious North American journal The Spine Journal and is working closely with ACC and Specialists in creating an escalated care pathway to improve patient care and form closer links between Physiotherapy and Orthopaedics. Katy is also helping to train Physios through the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapists Association.

Another focus this year was to work with local businesses to help health and wellbeing in the workforce. We see this as a great opportunity to prevent injuries and improve wellness. Helen has been busy creating corporate wellness packages and we have since completed 10 seminars with businesses such as 2 Degrees & Sustainable Coastlines and completed a 6-week bespoke package for Mercedes Benz NZ. We think this is a great way to use our skills and expertise and hope to do a lot more in 2020.

Our Physiotherapy team has also had a great year. Katy and Robyn went to Australia and completed the 4 day Watson course on how to assess the neck to help manage headaches and migraines. Mike became a lecturer on acupuncture at AUT and Michelle completed her post-graduate diploma in Rehabilitation. We are so proud of our team who are continually trying to improve their skills and knowledge.

We have big plans for next year. We want to continue to provide the best evidence-based treatment with a focus on achieving significant improvements in health and wellbeing. We hope to prove these outcomes by tracking the change in client reported outcome measures you would have completed in your new injury forms (so if you see a form pop up in your inbox, please take a few minutes to complete it). We are looking at more ways we can support your rehabilitation and long term health goals with our fantastic Physiotherapy and Health Collective team and will continue to educate and inspire you with blogs, seminars and workshops.
