Special Interests: Pelvic health for people of all genders and cancer rehabilitation
After completing her physiotherapy degree at the University of Brighton, Julie worked across a broad range of disciplines in the UK, both within NHS hospitals and the private sector. Through her clinical practice, she gained experience treating patients with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and rheumatological conditions. Over time, she developed a passion for holistic, patient-centred care, tailoring her approach to each individual to achieve the best possible outcomes. Julie moved to New Zealand in November 2018 and developed a special interest in pelvic health through her work in private practice. She has since completed postgraduate qualifications in pelvic health, with her professional development further complemented by her part-time role within the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team at Greenlane Clinical Centre. She has completed APA Women's Health training in Australia and is qualified in Pinc & Steel Cancer Rehabilitation. She enjoys supporting people with a wide range of pelvic health concerns, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postnatal recovery, pelvic floor dysfunction across all genders, and helping individuals safely return to exercise and the activities they enjoy. Julie enjoys empowering patients through timely education, supporting them to optimise their health and wellbeing
through movement and exercise at any stage of life. Julie strives to be compassionate, caring and inclusive in her approach. Having personally experienced football injuries over the years and undergone two major knee surgeries, she has a unique understanding of the psychological challenges that often accompany physical injuries. She enjoys discussing clients physical goals
and collaborating with them to create a treatment plan that best suits their lifestyle. Julie is dedicated to providing a culturally safe and supportive environment for all
(LGBTQIA+ affirmative) and is conscientious in ensuring individuals feel truly heard. While she has focused her professional development in pelvic health in recent years, she remains highly competent in treating musculoskeletal injuries and is equally happy to help with your individual physiotherapy concerns. Outside of work, Julie enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. She enjoys spending time outdoors, taking dance classes and playing the guitar.
Treats patients aged 8 years and over (standard physiotherapy appointments only).
