PHYSIOTHERAPY

Our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists specialise in treating ongoing and complex pain and injuries

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy can enhance your wellbeing through movement. Moving well is the key to allowing your body to function at it's best. Physiotherapy techniques aim to reduce pain, repair injuries and increase mobility through exercise, manual therapy (hands on treatment), and education. Physiotherapy can help people of all ages and is not only helpful during times of pain and injury but can also prevent musculoskeletal problems from arising in the first place.

All of our Physiotherapists have studied for a minimum of 5.5 years full time at University and have extensive knowledge of how to diagnose and manage a large range of musculoskeletal injuries (ie. any pain or injury to the bones, tendons, ligaments, or muscles). Our Physio's also have expert knowledge to treat complex or chronic pain conditions that may be ongoing from an injury many years ago. Although all of our Physio's treat general musculoskeletal injuries, some have specialised in particiluar areas such as complex back injuries, headaches, or lower limb injuries, so if you have a complex injury check out our bio's HERE to see who you would be best to book an appointment with.

At Auckland Physiotherapy we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of care and go over and above to ensure you are well looked after. To ensure you are improving we ask you to complete some outcome measures (questionnaires plus specific physical tests dependent on your condition) so that we can easily track your changes. If you are not seeing a good improvement by your third session, we will arrange a second opinion with one of our other expert Physiotherapists free of charge.

Should you require any further investigations to confirm your diagnosis, such as x-rays or ultrasound scans we can arrange these for you. We can also refer you to a specialist if necessary and we can even refer you for ultrasound guided injections if these were required.

We use a range of treatments tailored to meet your specific needs - this includes a personalised electronic exercise programme which you can access on any device to ensure you are completing your exercises correctly. Your physiotherapist will discuss other treatment options with you, so that you can work together to find the best treatment option for your recovery. Treatment may include "hands on" techniques such as trigger point release, manual therapy or manipulation, acupuncture or dry needling and Clinical Pilates

You do not need a referral from your doctor to see a Physiotherapist, however if you need to see a Masters Physiotherapist it would be helpful to bring along any medical notes you may have.

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS

Our Senior Physiotherapists have between 6-17 years experience and have post-graduate training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, so you will be in good hands no matter who you see.

MASTERS PHYSIOTHERAPISTS

If you have a complex injury and have been to see other Physiotherapists or Health Professionals but are not seeing the results you would like or feel that your condition has not been diagnosed correctly, you may wish to see a Masters qualified Physiotherapist. Our Masters qualified Physiotherpists have minimum 13 years experience and have studied for up to 9 years full time at University to specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of more complex musculoskeletal conditions. They also treat people following complex surgery.

Our Masters Physiotherapists often see clients referred from their GP, Specilaist, or another Physiotherapist for second opinions or to confirm a diagnosis.

You do not need a referral from your doctor to see a Physiotherapist, however if you need to see a Masters Physiotherapist it would be helpful to bring along any medical notes you may have.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST SPECIALISTS

We have two Physio Specialists in the clinic. Physiotherapy specialists are expert physiotherapists who have advanced education, knowledge and skills to practise within a specific area of clinical practice. To see them they require a referral from your GP, Specialist or Physiotherapist and must clearly state they are for a “Specialist Physiotherapy Assessment”. Referrals to physiotherapy cannot be accepted.
